Meal planning for sailors

Every crossing, well fed.

Galley Wizard plans every meal, the shopping for each port, where it all goes aboard and what to prep each day — shared with your crew, and it works offline at sea.

Food is everything at sea

Some say the chef matters more than the captain.

We won't tell the skipper. 😉 A well-fed crew sails better, sleeps better and argues less — and out there, there's no shop round the corner.

  • Buy what you'll cook — not “just in case”

Every quantity comes from your menu and your crew, rounded to real packs, with spare days built in. Fuller plates, emptier bins.

  • Eat it before it turns

Freshest food first, tins for the end. Galley Wizard warns before something spoils — and offers a fix, not a lecture.

  • A happy crew sails better

Something different every day, every diet aboard covered, BBQ nights and treats when the sea is kind.

  • Calm in port, calm at sea

One list per shop in aisle order, ticked off together. Prep reminders so dinner's on time — even after the night watch.

At sea, every kilo you bin is a kilo you hauled aboard, stowed, and kept cold for nothing.

Galley Wizard plans from the first shop to the last tin, so what you buy is what you eat.

Everything the galley needs. Nothing it doesn't.

From the first shop to the last tin — planned, rounded to real packs, and easy to follow on a moving boat.

  • Every meal, planned

Breakfast to dessert for every day at sea — freshest food first, tins for the end, every diet aboard covered.

  • Shopping per port

One list per stop in supermarket order, rounded to what shops sell: 1 kg bags, 400 g tins, 7 avocados.

  • Stowage that makes sense

Where everything goes aboard and in what order, so tonight's dinner is on top — not under the potatoes.

  • Day by day, on time

Each day's recipes scaled to your crew, with prep times and when to start so dinner is served at seven.

  • Know what's aboard

Stock grows when you tick the shopping and shrinks when you cook — and warns before you run short.

  • Works offline at sea

Install it on your phone. The plan, recipes and ticks keep working mid-ocean and sync back in port.

Local & seasonal first · zero-mile provisioning

Shop the market, not the import aisle.

Wherever you provision, Galley Wizard knows what's in season and plentiful there that month — and builds your menu around it. Tomatoes and peppers in a Mallorcan summer, oranges there in winter, courgettes in Auckland in January, mangoes in Antigua in early summer. Food that hasn't been flown in is fresher on the plate, keeps longer in the locker and goes easier on the planet.

  • In season where you shopEvery harbour and month gets its own list of what's local — the menu leans on it.
  • Fewer flown-in foodsOut-of-season fresh produce is flagged “likely imported” on your list, so you can swap it.
  • Each harbour's own cookingSpanish dishes leaving Palma, Caribbean in Antigua.
  • Buy what you'll eatExact amounts, stowed so the first days' food is on top — less ends up overboard.

Questions?

What does Galley Wizard do?

You tell it the boat, the crew (diets and allergies) and the route. It plans every meal for the trip, makes one shopping list per port in supermarket order, shows where everything goes aboard, and gives you each day's cooking with prep times.

How do I plan my first trip?

Sign up with Google, then answer the wizard — one question per screen, all prefilled, about two minutes. You can change any answer later and re-plan.

Does it work without signal?

Yes, once the trip is on your phone. Install it (Add to Home Screen), open the trip once with signal, and the plan, recipes and ticks keep working at sea. Ticks sync when you're back online.

How does my crew see the menu?

From Plan → Share the menu, send them the crew link. No app, no sign-up: they see today's meals (and any other day), tap 👍 or 👎 with a word if they like, and send you requests. You see it on each meal of your menu.

What does it cost?

A short trip (up to 7 days, one leg) is free. For bigger trips: a Passage pass at €15 per trip, or a Season pass at €39 per year. While we test with real crews, everything is free.
